I started taking pictures as a kid with a cheap 110 film camera, barely getting recognizable images developed. Mostly black frames, some with lens flare. Others were just a blurry mess.

As a teenager I got my hands on a Sony Mavic digital camera that saved pictures onto a floppy disk and had a 0.3 mega pixel sensor. I thought it was great, I had tons of floppy disks, so I took tons of pictures. Then I opened them up on the computer and saw that I had more pictures than I did pixels…

Fast forward 15 years, I had bought a Nikon d40 for my wife, which I used to take this picture of our Weimaraner puppy, Bentley.

After many failed pictures, I ended up with a decent shot. This was the first time I had taken a picture that I actually wanted to print out and hang on my wall. Almost a decade later, this picture is still around my house.
